Description
Some random Pokémon ideas I came up with recently. These are a line of Grass-type starters, and like Bulbasaur before them they are dual-typed all the way through (though in this case they're Grass/Fighting rather than Grass/Poison.) They learn mostly physical attacks and also some defensive moves like Endure and Protect (after getting the shield, anyway); things like Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade on the grass-type side of things, with Wood Hammer being a sort of "ultimate attack" for them, as well as a few moves like Reversal and Hammer Arm for fighting-type moves. And also some other moves like Slash and Aerial Ace after the little one evolves and gets a sword.
(And in case you didn't know already... Aerial Ace has exactly zilch and nada to do with flight, and everything to do with high-speed slashing. In Japan it was named after a samurai sword technique, which happened to have a bird-related name... which is probably the only reason why it's Flying-type in the first place. So these guys learning it actually makes sense. What *doesn't* make sense is when things like freakin' Butterfree can learn it despite not having anything sharp--either a beak, claws, weapon, etc.--anywhere on its body... Beedrill I can see, since it's got those huge honkin' stinger-drill-blades on its arms, but BUTTERFREE? Come on.)
====
They were intended to look somewhat like those wooden training dummies you sometimes see in kung fu movies, and also a bit like Link from The Legend of Zelda (with the leaf hat/skirt and the whole sword-and-shield thing.)
I had to draw the unevolved form half a dozen times before I finally came up with a design I liked for it... the evolved forms only took three attempts each before I liked how they looked, though.
