#036: Baby Onix

Onix starts out as a Rock-type, then compresses its rocky shell even further into a metallic form, making it Steel-type.  It's also FREAKIN' HUGE, to the point where having a "tiny Onix" come out of an egg doesn't make much sense.  This is one of the (very, very few) cases where adding on a baby Pokémon actually makes sense... and yet, for some reason, it hasn't been done yet.

Anyway... this is my unnamed baby Onix, which I came up with in 2008-2009 or so.  Its body is made up of clumps of compacted soil, having not yet hardened into full-fledged rock yet.  And of course, it's smaller and cuter than its grown-up forms. XD

It's also a bit faster than either of its evolved forms, continuing the pattern established by Onix slowing down as it becomes Steelix.
